Infographic: Latest Burglary Hotspot Figures Released

The average burglar takes 13 seconds to break into a property

Last month Money Supermarket released their annual figures for burglary occurrences within different postcode areas. The data is based on claims for the two years to 30th November 2014 and over 2.6 million quotes were analysed to determine the final figures.

Of the top ten areas with the highest number of burglary claims, seven were within the Greater London area. Six of those seven areas were all within North and East London. Parts of Manchester, Doncaster and Bradford were within the top ten as well.

Conversely the areas of the country with the lowest burglary rates, with the exception of East Anglia and North Wales, were all in the North – Northern Ireland, Cumbria and Scotland – with five of those being in Scotland, and the top five least burgled all having had no burglary claims during the period studied!
