With all the fun of Halloween just around the corner Alexandra Locksmiths remind local London residents to be extra vigilant when opening the door to potential Trick or Treaters.
What should be a fun evening for local children turned into a horrible crime for one of our customers a few years ago
An elderly lady in Highgate, London N6 was a victim of a Trick or Treat scam. Three people dressed in Halloween costumes knocked at the door and when she opened it they pushed her to the floor and took cash and jewellery from her home. She was left very frightened and shaken by such a cruel incident.
We fitted a spy hole and a door chain to her door so she could see who is calling at the door first and open the door slightly to talk to them with the door chain on.
So please beware of who you open the door to this Halloween and bogus Trick or Treaters.
