Figures released this week have revealed the most burgled postcodes in Britain with North Finchley N12 in North London taking third place. The research conducted by MoneySupermarket examined more than 3 million applications for home insurance quotes made between December 2011 and the end of November 2012 and filtered the data to show where people had made claims for burglary.
Residents of these areas are advised to be extra cautious and take steps to reduce risk of burglary. Installing new and secure locks, including Ingersoll locks and Banham locks can help guard against criminals, as well as the installation of CCTV security equipment and security grilles and gates for windows and doors.
Thieves often target wealthy areas where the rewards are greater or quiet areas where there is not a lot of passing foot traffic and the risk of being caught out is lower.
