Alexandra Locksmiths were called to change locks on a property in St Johns Wood, London NW8 this week.
The customer was going off on holiday at 5am, when he got to his car he realised that it was not locked and thought that he must have forgotten to lock it the night before.
As he was driving off to the airport he noticed a man on a bicycle riding past, he thought it was odd as it was so early in the morning, but continued on his way. But it kept playing on his mind and he remembered that he always kept a spare set of keys in his car, when he checked for the keys he realised that they had gone and turned the car back and went straight home.
When our customer got home he opened the door to find the man that was on the bicycle was robbing his house!
We changed his locks to an Ingersoll SC71 auto deadlocking rim lock and a Chubb 5 lever British standard deadlock.
Make sure that you always leave your spare keys in a safe place preferably a small safe.
