The Highgate Burglary took place last week whilst the controversial Radio 1 DJ was on holiday and the house was empty. The burglars stole 2 of his cars, an Audi RS and Mercedes, worth around £100,000, and his home was left ransacked. A Scotland Yard spokesman said: ‘We are investigating a burglary that took place at an address in Highgate, north London. ‘Two vehicles that were stolen as a result of the burglary have been recovered and inquiries are continuing. There have been no arrests at this time.’
The presenter was on holiday and understandably upset at having his family home Burgled. Highgate, an affluent area of North London, with many celebrities enjoying this leafy north London suburb, is often targeted by burglars and it may not be a coincidence that this burglary took place while Mr Moyles was not on the radio, and had probably broadcasted that he was going away.
Chris Moyles is the longest-serving breakfast host in Radio 1’s 45-year history, and will present his last show next month after eight controversial years behind the microphone.
