Paralympic Torch 24hr Relay Route

The Paralympic Torch Relay will take place between 24th and 29th August 2012.

The 24hour Relay will begin on 28th August 2012 and will travel 87 miles from Stoke Mandeville in Buckinghamshire to London.  The Paralympic Torch will be carried by 580 Torchbearers working in teams of five.

The Paralympic Flame will visit several iconic London landmarks including Piccadilly Circus, Westminster Abbey, Downing Street and Trafalgar Square.  It will cross over the River Thames on some of London’s most famous bridges including Lambeth Bridge, Waterloo Bridge and Tower Bridge.

Trafalgar Square will be host to live entertainment and sports will be screened throughout the Paralympic Games.

The Paralympic Flame Lighting Ceremony will take place at Stoke Mandeville Stadium on 28th August 2012, where the four flames from London, Belfast, Cardiff and Edinburgh will be united.  The Paralympic Flame will then leave the Stoke Mandeville Stadium and start the 24hour relay which will conclude on 29th August 2012 at the Olympic Stadium in time for the Opening Ceremony.
