Standard Latch rim locks or Nightlatches

The standard rim lock or Nightlatch is one step above the traditional rim lock or Nightlatch in security terms. Most lock manufacturers make a standard rim lock or Nightlatch including, Yale, Asec, Era and Union. The standard rim lock or Nightlatch comes with a 40mm backset and a 60mm backset. Body colours available are brass, polished chrome and grey. Cylinder can be in a brass, satin chrome or polished chrome finish.

Features
Snib function allows latch to be held back.

Operation
Latch bolt is withdrawn by handle from inside and key from outside.
Latch can be held back and deadlocked from inside, rendering the lock inoperable by key or knob, with snib.
Some standard locks have the extra feature of being able to deadlock the latch and handle by turning the key in the cylinder one full rotation.

Alexandra Locksmiths have recently fitted these locks in Stratford E14 and Alexandra Park N22.
