The Master Locksmith Association Targets Locksmiths Falsely Using MLA Logo

Having spent a lot of money chasing websites featuring companies purporting to be an approved Master Locksmith Association company and then not being able to serve papers via the legal route as the sites contact details all ended in bogus addresses, the Master Locksmith Association has finally managed to get Trading Standards to intervene on their behalf.

Steffan George, of the Master Locksmiths Association, comments: ‘Trading Standards have just confirmed they have been able to enforce the removal of the Master Locksmith Association logo from four London based locksmith websites. These sites, all with fictitious addressees, have been targeted as they were using the Master Locksmith Association Approved Company logo whilst not a member ( as well as claiming other memberships). ‘the legal route proved impossible, so Trading Standards were contacted who fought on the associations behalf, ultimately contacting the web hosts to highlight the issue. ‘The logo has now been removed from the websites with one of the sites shut down altogether.’
