Yesterday the Guardian reported that private security company, G4S has yet to accredit and train at least 9,000 security guards before the games begin.
The private security firm, who are being paid almost £300m to ensure that London 2012 Olympics is guarded and safe, still need to fully train thousands of security guards who will be required to protect the games from any potential attack of terrorism.
G4S has come out and confirmed that 12,000 security guards are already available that they are training another 20,000 before the games begin on the 27th July. Despite this announcement, there are growing fears that personnel from the military may need to be called in to balance out the shortfall in security guards and home secretary, Theresa May, has even stepped in to calm these fears.
