Former deputy Prime Minister, John Prescott has raised fears over Olympic security after suggesting that cheap labour could be used to undercut better, more experienced security workers at the Olympics.
Prescott tweeted his fears after it was reported in the Guardian that security volunteers from a government work programme had to spend a night sleeping under London Bridge before the Thames pageant on Sunday.
Yesterday, he wrote a public letter to the home security. In the letter he wrote about his deep concerns that the firm CPUK was operating on the cheap and was failing to show a duty of care to its staff.
John Prescott went on to say that he thought it would be inappropriate for such a prestigious event to be policed by a company that appears to have an obvious disregard for its employees.
